![]() If you're in an Infantry Battalion S1, you're likely to do 2-3 multi-week (2-3 week exercises) a year. It really depends on the type of unit you're going to rather than if you're airborne qualified or not. A kind of shitty place adjacent to some much better places if you’re willing to spend between an hour and a day to get there.Īirborne means more opportunities, more pay, and genuinely not a lot of extra bullshit.Įven as infantry, I don’t go on extended field trips very often. Pretty much any duty station is going to be about the same. And when you get to do the fun shit like a rotary jump with a timeline of 15 minutes from when you finish rigging to when you’re under your canopy, it’s extra dope. I would never go back and miss out on the chance to do that, even if all my jumps were like my worst jump. Whether it’s worth the timeline is questionable, but jumping out is fuckin’ fun. First of all, jumping is legitimately fun. Still plenty of bullshit there too though. I’m not going to say it’s a great place, but I know a couple legs and they all deal with more bullshit except the guy at Campbell. Bragg gets the worst of it because the 82nd gets a lot of attention. ![]() Do not answer n00b questions on the main boards.
